The Valkyrie

Chosen they were by winged Goddesses from above, fallen heroes of the battles long past, found once again on those majestic fields of Valhalla, waiting evermore for that day then.

The morning light carried with her an offer for our redemption, glowing embers encompassing all that may be in the last place we would ever be found. The seven Valkyrie would come to me in waves, as they were destined to become, they had come to take me home. Our time had come to pass; presense conveyed belonging, acceptance of our lasting fate together, only to be accompanied by a regret felt like none other. For they alone were to decide the fate of what was and will ever be.

Saviors each as they may, bearing witness to the Ragnorak that had finally come to pass; manipulating the outcome as only they could with those charms we knew oh so very well, protecting us from that fragile reality that still remained.

Anxiously they awaited my arrival to that great battlefield, patiently waiting for us to fall. I was chosen to follow them; a reluctant participant in an inevitable fate, for the old guard had passed without so much of a thought of acquaintance. The Valkryie would prepare us for the stories that were to come, a transition between the living and the dead. And in the great expanse of their wings they carried me off to our Valhalla, to roam the fields until that day then, with nothing so much as a thought to the world found below.

Redemption would not find us on these shores, for I was the one that had left them.
