One the Blessing Way: Starlette

Originally written May 13, 2008

There is just one thing I need you to understand, and after that moment all can be forgiven again. If this should be my requiem by you, then let it be told of what was and what would never be. Stories would pass by us throughout the years where neither of us would have been the wiser. Some found in our most vulnerable moments, and others reserved for a revelry only we would grasp. For no one could have explained quite like us what dreams had been thrown away until every last one of them were forced to walk in our footsteps. After everything we have been through, from your crisis of faith foreshadowing my own two years too soon, to the selfishness brought out within me and the compassion you fought so hard to hold on to. In this our lasting moment together, believe in me tonight. If he should ever lay a hand in anger on you again I swear by all that is holy above that I will deliver upon him a day of reckoning by the likes you have never seen before. There is no heaven that can hide from me.

In the world I see, in this the blessing way, it is everything that was meant to be. You saved yourself by finding a blessing to bring you back to reality, and in your faith came the hope you unknowingly passed along to me. Destined for something more than what was and what could be once again, that maybe, somewhere within us, we can only hope to find within ourselves what you have showed us once again.
